Project-based learning
    • Bring students closer to the real world through active training experiences.
    • Learn from real challenges or problems in which the students seek possible solutions to the initially proposed situations.
    • Develop strategies for thinking, formulate explanatory hypotheses, and identify learning needs that allow for better understanding of the problem and to achieve the objectives.

    • Exercise various cognitive abilities, such as: analysis, argumentation, and problem resolution. Promote interpersonal and social abilities, such as communication and cooperation.


Workshops for instrumental learning

A more systematic project allows for the consolidation of some basics of language and logical-mathematic reasoning that will be the foundations upone which we can build, always within the current context.

Specific projects guided by specialists in foreign languages, artistic expression in its various aspects, physical education…

Cooperative work

Cooperative work promotes interaction between classmates, individual and collective responsibility, self-sufficiency in organization, dialogue, understanding, and understanding of difference as an enriching element when facing challenges.

Competence-based evaluation

We evaluate so as to learn, to know where we are, and to always do things a little bit better. We propose what our goals will be and how we will reach them. Little by little we become aware of our own evolution.


Via the student´s personal plan, we promote the ability to monitor their own learning. We guide the students so that they develop strategies for learning in different situations. We plan and monitor the process and evaluate to find out if they have improved and to convert the reflection into new action.

Other unique aspects of Reina Elisenda Virolai

Participation by students in school life.
  • Our infants begin learning responsibility to the group as of P3. Classroom responsibilities are an important element in this learning. And in the superior cycle, the school offices are: group leaders and table heads, and lunch room supervisors.
  • In primary, delegates from each grade make up the student assembly. With this means of participation, they review, evaluate, and propose activities or improvements in the life of the school organization.
  • The eco-delegates, also in primary, propose actions and work to promote sustainable and healthy lifestyle habits for the entire group.
The linguistic project of Reina Elisenda Virolai
  • Rigor in the learning of languages as a communication tool is a distinctive trait of our project. To be able to communicate in different languages and formats, adapting to diverse contexts and speakers, is the main objective.
  • With this in mind, our linguistic project is unique in that it begins the teaching of French in the third year of primary. This process culminates it stage with a school exchange program with France in the sixth year.
The arts and expression
  • Awakening creativity in all areas of artistic expression and uncovering artistic talents.
  • Cultivating sensitivity for aesthetics and harmony through music, painting, dance, drawing, modeling, rhythm…
  • Encourage and combine fine motor skills and coordination with creativity, aesthetic sense, and harmony.
  • Promote in the students alternative ways to express their ideas and thoughts.
